This is a cover of the song "Christmas Island" by the indie pop band LAKE, from their 2009 album "Let's Build a Roof". It's also more commonly known as the end credits theme of the show Adventure Time.
Why did I do such a random cover? Well, I kept having this idea of having a "Loud Quiet Loud" Pixies style dynamic on this song, keeping the verses clean like the original song (well, it's not 1:1. It's still my interpretation) and having the choruses be distorted with heavy guitars.
I also tried to keep the 70s vibe of the original by panning some instruments, and putting some reverb here and there. This is, as of October 2025, the song I've recorded with the most synthesizers. I think there's at least 3 different synths in this track. Let's just say my PC doesn't like it when I open the FL Studio project.
Also! My favorite tidbit is that the last chorus and verse are from "Island Song" instead of "Christmas Island".
My other favorite tidbit, that I just learned.. is that they played this song again live as a full band just this year, on March 14th 2025. Check it out it sounds wonderful. Ashley is a much better singer than I am lol
